Job Title: Engineering Technician
Position Overview: We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support various engineering test activities at Busek. This role involves working closely with our engineering team to ensure the successful setup, execution, and reporting of test activities, including TVAC testing, Oven Testing, DAQ setup, data extraction, test data collection/processing, EMI/EMC testing, bench-top testing, burn-in, debugging, and replacing parts. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering and experience with various test setups and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the setup and execution of environmental tests, including TVAC, oven, and bench-top testing.
  • Set up/configure and assist in the execution of environmental tests, including TVAC, oven, and bench-top testing.
  • Perform data acquisition (DAQ) setup, data extraction, and test data processing.
  • Support EMI/EMC testing and other related tests such as burn-in.
  • Assist in the design, fabrication/assembly and setup implementation of test fixtures such as load banks.
  • Assemble, test and debug of electronic systems.
  • Replace parts and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Rework circuit board assemblies using a soldering iron and common hand tools. This skill must include soldering and de-soldering of very small parts (surface mount technology).
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure test requirements are met.
  • Document test results and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or technical field Preferred. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Must be able to work from schematics, drawings, sketches and/or verbal instructions.
  • Previous experience in a technical role, preferably in a testing or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in using standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and integration.
  • Experience with soldering surface mount and through hole electronics, fabricate electrical-mechanical hardware such as test boxes and wire harnesses.
  • Ability to assemble SMT-based PCBs and test fixtures is required.
  • Good communication skills and ability to document test results.
