We are seeking a talented Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) – PCB to ensure the quality and reliability of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic components sourced from external suppliers.
Job Summary:
As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) – PCB, you will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and managing suppliers to ensure they meet Busek’s quality, reliability, and performance standards. You will work closely with supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement and mitigate risks in the supply base.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement supplier quality assurance processes for PCB and electronic component suppliers.
Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and risk evaluations to ensure compliance with industry standards and Busek requirements.
Review supplier manufacturing processes, quality systems, and inspection methods to drive improvements.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure root cause analysis is completed.
Define and manage incoming inspection criteria, acceptance sampling plans, and qualification testing requirements for PCBs and electronic components.
Work with engineering and procurement teams to assess supplier capabilities, provide technical feedback, and support new product introductions (NPI).
Ensure supplier compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-600, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610) and other relevant quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
Monitor supplier performance through metrics and scorecards, driving improvements in quality, delivery, and overall supplier performance.
Support failure analysis and reliability testing of electronic components and PCBs.
Participate in material review board (MRB) activities and disposition non-conforming materials.
Maintain supplier quality documentation, including supplier agreements, corrective actions, and audit reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or quality engineering, with a focus on PCBs and electronic components.
Strong knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, including fabrication, assembly, and testing.
Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-600, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001) and other industry quality standards.
Experience with supplier auditing, root cause analysis, corrective action processes, and quality system evaluations.
Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills for supplier interactions.
Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics industries is a plus.
ASQ certification (CQE, CQA) or IPC certifications are a plus.
