Position Overview
Busek is seeking a BPMA Testing Technician to support the development, manufacturing, and testing of advanced propulsion hardware. This role will support the BPMA team responsible for the design and production of thruster feed system components and assemblies.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with aerospace hardware, mechanical assemblies, test equipment, and troubleshooting. This position will support prototype builds, production testing, system verification, and continuous improvement activities as Busek transitions advanced propulsion technology into repeatable manufacturing processes.
This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity for a motivated technician looking to contribute to innovative space propulsion programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing and verification activities on BPMA feed system assemblies and related propulsion hardware.
- Support assembly, integration, and functional testing of complex aerospace components.
- Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Collect, record, and analyze test data to verify system performance and identify issues.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fluid system issues during testing and production activities.
- Support engineering teams with prototype builds, test procedures, and hardware evaluations.
- Perform hands-on assembly, modifications, and rework of precision components.
- Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and test procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation supporting traceability, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve manufacturing processes, reliability, and test efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following aerospace manufacturing practices.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace, mechanical assembly, manufacturing, testing, or related technical environments.
- Experience working with mechanical assemblies, fluid systems, or precision hardware.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience testing aerospace, propulsion, vacuum, fluid, or electromechanical systems.
- Experience with pressure systems, leak testing, instrumentation, or data acquisition equipment.
- Experience with cleanroom, high-reliability, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and aerospace documentation requirements.
- Experience with soldering, machining, mechanical assembly, or electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting prototype hardware through production transition.
