Position Overview:
The In-Process Inspector will be responsible for performing inspections of precision-manufactured components and assemblies during various stages of production. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong knowledge of inspection tools and techniques, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform in-process inspections of machined, assembled, and fabricated components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to verify dimensional accuracy.
Interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical documentation.
Document inspection results and generate reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary.
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to identify and resolve manufacturing discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Maintain inspection records and assist with internal and external audits.
Recommend process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
3+ years of experience in in-process inspection within an aerospace, defense, or precision machining environment.
Strong proficiency in using precision measurement tools and interpreting engineering drawings.
Knowledge of GD&T principles and AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to government contract requirements.
